OK, OK I do have a beef
So, we have an election with a Republican whose voice sounds like a munchkin, who is so old he might not live to be elected.
Then we have the democratics pitting a woman against a black man. Both would be firsts for the presidency. At first it was exciting, then I started to not care again. As a pastor, I took it personally when Obama dissed his long time pastor. I listed to Rev. Wright the other day and I respect him even if he has some crazy ideas. Then people mention Obama and Clinton teaming up? I mean, I could only see it if they ran as co-presidents. Either way, there is a sense of submissiveness if one gave in to be vice-president. For either contender it would look (and I imagine) feel bad.....
But that is not my beef. Every morning I drive by a church that has a marque that says "READ THE BIBLE! IT WILL SCARE THE HELL OUT OF YOU." Gee,,,,, that makes me want to pluck down my money for a Bible. Oh yes, I just want to drop everything to attend church with people who put that sort of sign up! (dripping scarcasm). What are they thinking? No wonder the church is dying!
Speaking of which, we have a real big problem at our hospital with CHICK TRACKS. You know, those annoying hatefilled comic handouts that pretend to be sharing the real CHRISTIAN FAITH. We have sort of a contest to see who can find the most and throw them out. I mean, who wants to pick up something to read that they are sick because GOD IS CONDEMNING THEM? Come on...
OK... While I am ranting......... I work on an inpatient psychatric unit. Let me tell you this...not many pastors bother to visit when their members are locked up. HOWEVER, the Jehovah's Witness representative will show up the same day every time they are called. I may not share their religion but they do care for their folks. Now, if I can only get them to quit leaving the watchtowers every place.......
